I finally took a short video of my turbo buggy doing a pretty firm launch and a run up through third gear.
It is running slightly lean around 4500 rpms in third so it sags a bit and loses some acceleration there.
This is a 1679 cc engine with stock crank, rods heads and upper valve train.
It has an Engle W-100 cam in it with 420 lift at the valves.
It's running crank fired ignition controlled by Megasquirt 1 Extra with Edis wasted spark.
I'm blowing through a stock Bocar 34pict-3 with the throttle shaft o-ringed and a stock fuel pump with boost reference hose to the bottom of the diaphragm and an o-ringed fuel pump shaft.
Homebuilt up-pipe from a sedan header and an IHI turbo putting out 10-11 lbs. boost with no intercooler.

| Very nice! It sounds great too! do you have an idea of 0-60? perhaps a power estimate? |

| Very nice! It looks like it's pretty hard on gas though - Video shows you burning through 1/4 tank... ;-) j/k |

Thanks for sharing for those that don't wander over to the other site. (Which I feel is a bit more technical in nature.)
I have read it through multiple times, and is a great journal to help understand the challenges of tuning a turbo...
but the best thing about it shows how simple a turbo system can really be. It takes a lot of the "black magic" mentality out of a simple turbo system. |

Based on video, it looks like a 6.5 to 7 second 0-60 time?

Without a timer on it I would say it probably is 6.0-6.5 seconds.
It looks like my start was at the 2 second mark and it is passing through 60 mph at the 8 second mark.
I have no idea how that compares to any other car though. |

Thanks Jes,
I happened to get a chance to view your Skyway Flyer today....
It seems to be in a few pieces......
Going partly to the dark side I see....but you need to add a little boost to the Modification.
You will then be able to SPANK Mario for a while.....  8) |
