Hello to all again. While I am waiting for my Gas Tank to be cleaned,I went ahead and checked the gas sending unit because the gas gauge was not reading at all. I ran a test with my ohmeter and with the sending unit float all the way up (Full)it reads 10 ohms. With it all the way down (Empty) it reads right at 75 ohms.I think this is about right for this sending unit but wanted to get your opinion on this. What is a good way to test the Gauge gas itself? What else could the problem be? Fuse is ok.
I just want to get it working before I put the tank back in and save alot of trouble. Thanks to all for your help.
PS- Where is a good place to order VW parts from like the sending unit and gauges etc, etc.

Make sure the sending unit is grounded. I had to run a ground to mine.

You can test it without the tank. that way you can move the float and watch it change

For parts try:
Cip1, Aircooled.net or Jbugs.

Thanks to both of you for your replys.I am going to see if I can check the gauge wiring and make sure that there are no busted wires and than go from there.
