I have a 70 bus and had to replace the ignition switch. Now, the key does not spring back from start to ignition, it stays at start unless you move it. Which one does the momentary part, the ignition switch or the key part of the switch. I will return the switch if that is the one, but if the key part is to blame, I'm not sure what I messed up. Any help would be great.

Thanks
Chuck

I would just take it all apart and put it together again per your Bentley (hopefully you have one).

I don't think that will solve the problem. I don't have any spare springs left, so I am guessing that the ign switch is the momentary but wanted to hear if anyone knew for sure.

The electrical portion has the return spring.
So which part did you replace?

68-70 switch # 311 905 865A
71-74 switch# 111 905 865F

It is possible to install the switch backwards but,the small
screw will not fit properly.

I replaced the electical part, guess I will be making a trip to the auto parts store tomorrow and have them order a new one.

Why don't you pull the elctrical part out again and put a flat bladed
screwdriver in the slot and turn it to the Crank position and see if
it springs back
