I'm past my third year heating with coal heading into my fourth.
Just ordered a delivery and it ended up $1028 for four tons delivered.
That will be it until this time next year. We have an indoor hand fed boiler that heats our base board and domestic water.
The boiler will burn wood, did that for two years. That cost 450 to have logs delivered. Way to much work for me.

What are you paying for coal?

0$.... I have a natural gas fired boiler (German "Buderus" no less). Embedded hydronic heating in the basement and forced air to the rest of the house. Boiler produces hot water for floor, forced air and potable hot water. Averages $125 per month if I spread it over the year. Electric is pretty much for lights only. 40$ per month, doesn't vary much through the year.

Edit: 3400 sf home

ALL electric @ .077 per kilowatt hour. $180 in a month was the most we've ever paid.
