Working on A Myers Manx that was garage built back in the 60's. The wiring is bits of a bug harness with a lot of creativity added on. I have managed to get everything working properly except the gen and oil lights.
The gen light stays on ( car is charging fine ) and the oil light won't work at all.
Tried grounding the oil wire that attaches to the pressure switch but that does nothing. I have checked the wire for continuity from the switch to the speedo and it is fine.
Speedocase is grounded and all other speedo lights work. Any ideas ?

The oil pressure switch for oil lamp is simple off/on switch (pressure operated).... With no oil pressure present, you should see same ground as for engine case on sender terminal... Upon pressure applied (engine running) the switch goes "open" (ground removed)...

On speedo there is terminal that powers all three idiot lights, (turn signal/oil/generator(alternator)).... This terminal has to have 12volts applied to terminal when key is on for lights to operate...

(late model speedo shown- early models are same)

Here is overall concept of lights on this "simple diagram"...

Dale, thank you for the info you provided. I got them working , the problem was the lack of power to that bottom pin and also discovered that the oil pressure switch was bad.
