Soo i was removing the pedal assembly in my 69 beetle and the thing that connects the brake pedal to the master cylinder came out. How do you put that back in? Lol and i heard something about adjusting it? Idk im lost lol

Just grease the tip and put it back in the boot. Reinstall the cluster and connect the rod to the cluster.

I just reinstalled my pedal cluster Friday.

Do you hear a snap or click or something?

x2
it locks the spring too, see that , idea here. clearly
i can tell you , you don't want it to fall out.. driving....

the rod is rounded on the end. if not , its bad.
the rod fits into a rounded cup in MC piston rear. it just sites there.
I use Silicon grease so it don't attack my MC seals. (brakes are serious )
do not adjust the rod jam nut ,ever. (if someone else did, find a new rod)
not seen is the brake stop behind the clutch (stops clutch too)
see the Bentleys, for full brake data and procedures, do not guess.

Well if you replace the MC some dont have any freeplay some have excessive.
It shouldnt need to be done but in some cases it will need to be.
The Bently manual even states the adjustment procedure and freeplay needed.
