I'll be caravaning with a small group of 2wd vanagon westies into baja this weekend.

Does anyone have suggestions for an overnight camping spot near Ensenada?

I am in OC and may be interested in caravaning with you guys. I know a couple places for camping North of Ensenada but I don't have the name.

could you please give some more details

- from when to when

- where to meet for caravaning

- etc

Don't recall any of the names of the places I've camped though, but there's one near K-38 that was fun.

Wherever you all go, make sure to lock up tight when you leave your trucks alone. I've had my various vehicles liberated of items while surfing.

We are tentatively planning to cross the border late friday night.

Meet in San Ysidro.

Return Monday. Looking to cross the border early Monday and avoid some traffic on the trip home.

Make sure you buy Mexican liability insurance.

The Mex insurance companies won't sell you comp/collision for vehicles the age of the Vanagon, so make sure your US policy allows travel into Mexico. They usually cover north baja. 100 miles or down to Ensenada.
