i swap my 58 beetle gearbox for a rancho super diff,with a type 2 nose cone and mounting ,the standard cradle was changed with an empi one , here comes the problem once i fitted everything in place the gearbox pulls back around 3mm /4mm !! it seems that i have to put either a spacer between the cradle and gearbox horns !!!or otherwise people suggest to skim the nosecone face where the gearbox mount should be fitted .
anybody experienced this problem before ?!! im not sure what will happen when i put the engine back , if there will be space enough ,especially when the 40s carbs are fitted
any help would be very appreciated
