So here is my story, this weekend the steering coupler bolts came loose and fell out (right after buggy came to a stop, omg close call). Found the missing bolts and put them back in to get buggy home that night.
Decided to put some locktite on the blots, so I get under the buggy and notice that the rubber coupler is distored, the new spring up by the steering wheel is pushing the shaft away from the sterring box. I get some help and losen the ubolt that holds shaft and tried to push column down and tighten back up, same thing happens. The spring is distorting the coupler, steering is fine but coupler is being pulled away. Is this normal or did I do something wrong when i installed this http://www2.cip1.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=VWC%2D113%2D498%2D585%2DA
Thanks

dump the spring.... Just use the bearing.... All the spring is doing is pulling against coupler.... It will continue to do this as long as spring has "tension"....

| One last question, how to i get the wiggle out of the column without the spring? How did it work originaly? |

From side to side?.... Used metal from soda can to create shim and wedged it between shaft and bearing...
Normally there is thin vinyl insulator there to isolate shaft for horn circuit (stock) but in most cases in buggy builds it disappears...
