I was at the picking yard today and saw a 75-78 bus with an A/C unit. the one that is over the driver and passenger heads. How much is one of these things worth?

The one in my '79 transporter I would have given you. It never worked while I owned the bus (in fairness, I never tried to fix it), it took up room, it kept the seat from sliding all the way back, and I banged my head on it more times than I care to remember.

Is it in good shape? Figure the compressor is going to need replacing if it's been sitting and maybe the hoses. There's a lot of stuff to pull out including the two radiators under the vehicle and the fittings that will need to be inspected. You are going to have to drill some holes for the hoses (they run through the floor behind the driver's pedestal). I don't mean to be overly blunt here, but I suppose it's worth whatever you think adding AC to an already underpowered vehicle is worth. I can't recall ever having been in one with a working AC although the camper model that goes under the dash on the passenger side makes a nice footrest
