I have what I believe to be a fuel leak underneath the gas tank. The area under the tank on the underside of the pan is stained and smells of gas but not dripping wet. I'm guessing it's the hose connecting the tank to the metal line. The end of the hose that connects to the tank is not visible. Is it supposed to be this way? I'm assuming I have to completely remove the tank to replace this hose. Is this correct? It looks like the tank is only held in with four clamps that bolt down. Is this correct? What size hose do I need?

Yeah there should be 4 hold down that bolt to the frame then you will have a small vent line coming off of the tip right corner I believe, then where the filler neck is there is a big hose there with a clamp on it, be careful with it, they tend to crack because of the angle they have to be pulled out. Then it should lift right out after you have disconnected and plugged the fuel line underneath the tank. Check the tank while it is out for an leaks too. Then just get the stock braided fuel line it is the best stuff and USE hose clamps, I wouldn't recommend putting a filter up front there come people do but you can never really change it effectively, just keep it simple and put it in the back. Drained the tank, took it out and replaced the hose which cracked in numerous places and virtually fell apart in my hands. Replaced it with OE fuel line. Painted the tank while it was out. For now, complete success!
