I really enjoyed the Jamboree that was in Irvine last year. I understand that the Dana Point event is a mixture of all types of cars.
Does this mean that the August Jamboree is not what is has been the past couple of years?
This was my favorite setting for the recent shows.

I'm going anyway. We missed the Classic, need a nice day out with the family.
I'm not seeing the problem with it being a car show instead of a VW only show, what am I missing? |

| I was going to drive my 62 ragtop down there from the desert. Any VW vendors? I've got a few things I'd like to unload for a few bucks. |

It was a good time. Pretty small number of VW's, but they had their own really nice grass area away from the 'concourse' dicks. And I mean that in the most genteel, classy, blowing your f'ing cigar smoke in my sons face kind of way. But I digress.
The food was good, weather was perfect, (no seriously, perfect). saw some new cars, some that we had seen before, and got to wear my new tie dye aloha shirt. Life is good. Sorry you guys thought it wasn't worth coming too, I think it would have been even better with more participation. |

Hey Everyone,
Thanks for coming out to the show. 7,000 people were in attendance and some great music, food and of course, cars. What we were trying to accomplish here was to expose the world of classic VW's to a broader audience and it worked. The crowds were all over the VW section in comparison to the street rods, however it was nice to see everyone getting along and respecting each others respective scenes. The larger play here is that the success of the show just might land us the entire park for a stand alone VW event in the future and it is hard to argue that if we had all three fields or even the use of the fourth and fifth fields in this location for nothing but VW's, that this venue would not be the best venue you could ever possibly want to have for our events. Again thanks for coming out. Now we move on to the Big Gun VW Jamboree event in August and we plan to incorporate lots of the food and entertainment you just saw at this past event into our VW only Jamboree in August. |

Here is a link to 48 pictures I took at the show. The first pic is my "unrestored" 62 ragtop. I was floored that I took home some hardware for my ride. It was a great time...the food was GREAT! VW specific vendors would be a plus for next year. There was a nice couple selling Bulli posters for $15 so I picked up one of those...
