I was thinking about getting a 61-67 tank from WW with the inside filler neck for a 70 Mild Baja build. My thinking is the inside filler neck tank would be simpler and cheaper to set up- Less hoses and vent lines, but in trying to find old posts on here about it looks like some people think you get more gas smell inside the car with the early tank due to gas sloshing up the filler neck during braking? Which setup is easier to maintain and has the least gas smells inside the cabin? I found a post where people were talking about re-welding/moving the filler on an inside-fill tank toward the back of the tank, I'm not going to get into all that- Just looking for opinions on inside versus outside fill without any other mods, thanks..

I prefer the old style. The only reason I went to newer was. Because I didnt want to lift off my front end every time I got fuel.

I added fiberglass ribbing to the bottom side of my hood to stiffen it, and it uses the original hinges with springs removed and spring loaded latches in the front with a permanent mounted prop rod- so getting in the front on mine is as easy as any other car...actually opening the hood on mine and filling an inside tank would probably be less hassle than keeping fuel spills off the paint on an outside fill setup....
