| I've done 4 orders so far, lots of small miscellaneous stuff including small parts and tools. Great website, smooth order process, great packing, free shipping is what it is, and only one order was short a small part. I called and got a credit for a few bucks toward next purchase (my suggestion because it was not worth a separate shipment). |

Delay in CIP ship time,
Our customers have flooded us with orders and we are shipping all orders within 24-48 hours. We apologize for any and all delays right now in our UPS USA ground shipping. Please remember we do state that UPS ground shipping will take approximately 7-10 days and we will back this up. Most of the time CIP has exceeds this 7-10 day in transit time, so we ask you to be patient and respect our 7-10 day in transit time. We will be caught up and all orders will be tracking properly by June 28th. CIP appreciates your business and we are working hard to make sure all orders are shipped within our 24 hour goal. |

You have a problem with UPS, not CIP. I'd be on the phone screaming at UPS. I am curious why they keep scanning it. |

( UPS )
Thank you for your inquiry. Our records show that the importer of record, California Import Parts ltd., has requested for a private broker to clear this shipment. Since UPS is not the acting broker, the guaranteed time of arrival has been voided. Unfortunately, this delay is beyond UPS control. Once the shipment clears with customs, movement will resume. I apologize for the delay. For more information, please contact California Import Parts ltd.

Hi there,
I apologize for the delay on this package. Normally our packages are
transported across the border with no problem at all, unfortunately
customs has increased security at the border and has been holding our
packages for a few days. We are trying to get this sorted out as soon as
possible and we have been told by UPS and our broker that these packages
should be released today
Thank you for your patience as we work through this.

| Its not UPS' fault here. We've tightened up our boarders and CIP1 is now shipping out of Canada. This is an interesting thread that I hope Kris reads. This thread started off, some four pages back, with nothing but kudos for CIP1 and as since turned 180 degrees because of issues that could be addressed. Some business pay huge money for consumer feedback information like this and we are providing it for free, so I hope your listening Kris. I for one, miss dealing with CIP1, but until these issues are resolved, it ain't gonna happen. |

| Same here order hung up in Seattle. Untill now I never had a problem with them. Maybe they should change the name from California import parts. To Canada import parts. They could keep the cip1 logo then. And not sound like they are in the USA. DL  |

Wade, how do you suggest CIP changes the policy of the US Government?

CIP's history:
In the late 70s the co name was S&S Rebuilding. This co rebuilt aircooled VW engines and did work on VWs. Over time, people started buying engine parts from S&S. That evolved to all VW parts to the point where a retail store was needed. But you can't really call a store that sells parts "S&S Rebuilding", so the current name was chosen since all the parts sold were IMPORTED from CALIFORNIA. Initially it was only a retail store serving the Vancouver area. It then expanded to a mail order business serving all of Canada. Then including the USA and ROW. |

| Well, if the majority of their business is from the US, then ship out of the US, not Canada. I think they used to ship out of Washington and this Canada shipping issue is a recent phenomena. Having to wait more than one month (after having received the return merchadise back) for them to refund my credit card (item was not as advertised), is inexcusable. |

The ad stated free shipping , the parts I bought qualified, 11 days ago, still dont have the parts and they charged me for shipping.
I'd rather pay more to walk up and grab the part. Oh well lesson learned. |
