My 1500s motor is getting rebuilt...can anyone tell me if there is any difference in the cams or were the domed pistons the only difference on these motors?

Thanks in advance

As far as I know they are the same. The heads as well - as compared to a non S motor of the same time frame. The only differance being the pistons themselves and maybe the jugs. I dont have my parts book handy.

There are several differences between the 1500 and 1500S engines, but the cam is the same. The 1500S engine has the dome top pistons for the higher compression ratio, the grooved oil pressure relief piston and different relief spring dimensions, the larger hole in the crankcase breather washer, and the dual carburetor setup.

I'm doing a 1500S for my car, as well.

I would upgrade to a CB performance cheater cam if I had the engine apart.
