Well after all the disasters I have had just trying to get this motor rebuilt, i finally got time to get to the last cylinder head to get it clean, lapped, cleaned again, etc. And this is now what I found this time
Anyone have a turnkey they want to sell me? lol |

That just didn't happen.someone tried to drive those guides
out without using a step drill bit First!!!
So yes you need another head. The J heads are plentiful
back in the 60's 70's you could buy the replacement 'Boss'
for upright cylinder heads. So you may try a company called AVP
and see what they say. |

Oh yeah I know, Im just saying I cant catch a break with tearing stuff down without finding that its junk anyways. lol But so far i guess I still find ways to laugh rather than give up.
But I will defiantly have to check that company out since I cant find any heads locally to get, and the prices of the ones I find online etc. are a little to pricey for me at the moment.
Edit: http://www.avp-worldwide.com/ This place? |

It looks like that AVP company sells turnkeys as well. Since that's almost more what I am leaning towards now. Anybody have experience with them. And yes I searched

Check this out...think you'll find it useful. It deals with the AVP motor specifically! Good luck and keep us posted!

I bought my motor from AVP a couple of years ago and I have about 15 K on it now. I have NO complaints.
Good Luck!!! |
