hello I have been looking around the forum to remove a cv joint I have the bentley but it's not helping very much I have a 71 squareback and I'm trying to remove the cv joint so I can install a new axle boot because the old one had broken bolts and damaged rubber boot.
PS I already removed the circlip but everything else won't fall down. any help would help thanks in advance. |

| If you had a press you would be set by pressing it off, but try to take a hammer and hit it from the back close to the shaft, but with slow control hits since the cv joint is no good it won't hurt it. |

| If you have a vise, put it in it loosely so the inner race is supported by the vice jaws. Or rig up a couple of blocks of wood to support it in the same fashion. Then get out your drift and hit the shaft and knock it dowen and out. |
