Pulling back on the turn signal/dimmer stalk on the steering column does not toggle the low/high beams. I pulled the brown wire from terminal S on the relay and was able to toggle the beams by grounding terminal S. I then put an ohhmeter between the brown wire and ground while is was disconnected from terminal S. Pulling back on the stalk does not short the brown wire to ground.
This brown wire originates at the signal/dimmer switch underneath of the steering wheel. So either the switch at the stalk is bad or the connection between it and ground is bad. Where does the ground originate? If I pull the wheel, what should I check for? |

Mine don't work either.
Here what it looks like on mine. I don't know if its correct, but this is where it was when I got the car. I haven't really looked into the problem so I left everything where it has been.

Where does the ground originate? If I pull the wheel, what should I check for? according to wiring diagram for a 66 the ground goes thru wiper switch. your test shows light relay ok. either turn signal switch is bad or there is a break in the circuit somewhere |
