Gang,
I received a number of requests to explain the forthcoming book. Here goes---
It has been in the works for nearly 7 years. The main idea is to cover the 4-cam cars and era (1953-1965). It describes and lists each individual car (about 325 purpose builtones like the Spyders and more) and the aprroximately 1,211 356 based cars. Included are the various pushrod GS and GT cars.
Most importantly, there is substantial text as to Fuhrmann and the motors and a comprehensive list of each individual 4-cam motor.
Also included is a detailed car by car listof all of the "spares". And, there will be a full color list/code including that previously known and many new items.
Each car section will include some text, and lots of Porsche memos, correspondence and many previously unpulished photos.
The book will be a Porsche Museum publication. It will be printed in Germany by Porsche and will be in both German and English.
Finally, the book will include by date, nearly 2,500 races for just the purpose built cars (+ Abarth and Dreikantschabers), with nearly 7,000 race entries.
Lots ofmyths will be debunked.
