the rack on the bug I think is a longer copy of a JimDandy or something like that, rare...

The rack on the ghia looks homemade or a bus rack with some possibly hillbilly engineering. |

Does anyone know what type of fuchs these are and what size they would be on this ghia? |

hard to tell from the bad angle of the pic...front look like flat 6's the back look later as they appear to have a step.
Is that ghia in leopard print? |

A "flat" six is a 6X15in fuchs rim. It will have a part number starting 911....
The fuchs that are most desireable are the early ones that have a 901...part number. 4.5, 5.5 and deep 6's...7's if you are really cashed up :)
Check this thread all about early Fuchs...

Awesome thank you for the link, should clear up some things.
Unfortunately i have a 4 lug setup on my 74 (they dont make much i like for the 4 lug) so converting to a 5 will be down the road when i can figure out how to do it. Then maybe i can throw on some of these flat 6 ones (or the polished ones - im torn on what looks better). |

| I believe that is a Jer-Dandy rack made by JerFab or someone's variation of one....very cool in my opinion but maybe a tad too overwhelming for the lines of a Ghia. |

| i agree with tacochris, it may look good on a bug, but the lines of the ghia make it look like an add on |

For some reason, that long rack on the bug looks like it would make a cool bunk bed...

A roof rack on a Karmann Ghia is the automotive equivalent of a supermodel wearing a large external-frame backpack.
And that poor Karmann Ghia in the original post looks like a painter's scaffold, and it looks as though it has been used as such!  |
