Hello
i have 1955 Karmann ghia and all the paper that comes with it says that the engine is Original and that the size is 1500 cc.

i tried to make sure of that using the Engine number, but No luck
here is a photo of the Engine number
the number as i read it is (F)Assuming that it starts with F which am not sure of
F 024377

after inspecting it under the direct sun light today , i noticed that there is an F litter to the most left , it was not readable and hidden
if you look closer to the photo you will notice it .
but still can't find any comparable number to it using the Engines number on the Samaba Engines list.

Notice: (Between number 4 and number 3 it's not 1, but there is a part of the printed word under the number, it's Arabian word ,and it's the name of My City. )
Any help ?

F serial number indicates a 1966-70 1300 single port, single relief case (1966 model year only in the U.S., but used until 1970 elsewhere):

Not sure what the actual displacement would be because 1300s (77 mm bore x 69 mm stroke = 1285 cc) were commonly rebuilt as 1600s (85.5 mm bore x 69 mm stroke = 1585 cc).

A calendar year 1955 ghia (considered 1956 for model year purposes) would have originally come with a 36 hp 1200. The engine you have is clearly not a 36 hp because it has a removable generator stand.
