Hey, what do you think about this folks. The engine sounds great but I feel
it needs more power and the accelerator pedal has a very narrow distance up and down. Could this lack of power be a problem of a accelerator cable larger or shorter? |

or the fact that your engine only has 50 hp ;)
I dont think adjusting the cable will make a huge difference unless it is loose. Can you push it down at all and have it not engave till a ceratin point? If so, adjust the cable, its streched. If not, live with it, its the car. Think about how far the acceletator arm on the carb mooves. If will only actually move so far. If you adjut it too far your either going to fuck up your carb or break your cable. |

| if you want more power/speed your need to get dual carbs. Thats pretty mutch the only way without rebuilding your engine. |

Check at the carb and make certain there is no large amount of slack in the cable. There should be a little, but not a huge amount. Also make certain your pedal isn't jammed and is able to operate in it's full "arc". If the pedal does not come up all the way and the cable was installed with the pedal in that position, you aren't getting the full use of the carb.
A quick check, have someone step down on the pedal while you are at the back, see if the carb arm is being pulled all the way. Youcan do this with the engine off. |

| yeah, forgot about that, make sure you have ABIT of play is the cable. If you adjust it tight, you will constantly be "on the gas" whe your not touching it. Keep that in mind. |

| what type of carb/s & linkage do you have?? some aftermarket setups require you to adjust at full throttle.... you need to have A friend sit in the car with there foot to the floor well you push the carb/s wide open(motor not running of course!) then adjust the cable.. if you don't do it the right way you'll never git more the half throttle |
