Can you put a filter pump housing onto a stock pump? My dad picked one of these things up at a yard sale (CB brand) minus the pump and wants to put it onto his stock pump. I told him that I didn't think it would work, but what do I know I'm only the son and I don't know shit. I need some help here guys. Thx

CB will probably sell you the pump for it, If not I probably have one and I am not far from you

Is it worth it to buy "half" a filter pump?

I'd rather buy a complete one so I know they will work together. I'd hate to match up the two parts only to find the machining is different and the openings don't line up.

Cb does sell the same pump with different covers, you could save maybe 5 or 10 dollars since you already have the filter cover.

the cover will only work with a cb pump housing, other brands are slightly different in the way the second oil passage lines up

I worked at CB for about 5 yrs, The pumps are made by schadeck and the covers, be it a filter cover or a maxi cover, are made local They are NOT made as a unit, You CAN replace just the pump with NO adverse effects. So in your case buying half a pump is totally worth it if you can. Also you cannot just buy a schadeck pump, these are propriatary to CB

you could possiably make another one work or even an oe one, but why? it would have to be pulled any way to machine it.just get one. or go with full flow.
