so i did search and found nothing to answer my problem
my newly installed so42 top wont stay up. the mechanism was very hard to open and almost impossible to get all the way up so i cleaned and greased it to the point it wont stay up. all of this is still with no canvas installed so i imagine it is going to be worse once i add the additional weight. looking at the mechanism i am unsure how it was ever supposed to reliably stay open as there are no catches or springs am i missing parts or something? |

| i do see 1 hole on each mech. where a spring could go but no other attachment point. plus there are no wear indicators of a spring being present. pictures or places that sell the correct spring? |

| I found ones that worked at ACE hardware. Take measurements off your poptop, and then get ones that are slightly shorter. |
