Years ago the guy in the green bug bought my manual his name is Nigel, the white bug is also T-4 powered it is a 2.2. Nigel has a 2.6 with a Jake DTM fanhousing. You can feel the torque.

They are in the Netherlands.

They said it was raining and it was hard to get up to speed but they seem to have done quite well considering the wet black top. Great engine sound.

The 2.2 sounds like a turbo engine. Nice sound.

The white one is Wally's car.

I think he goes by BeetSpeed on here.

Type 4 turbo with almost 400 hp.

Man the guy Nigel has been building that car for years, those guys in europe are T-4 crazy. HP is usually 160 and up. T-4's are not drag engines they are made for long runs at high speed. LIke a 914 which would do 126 mph with it's stock 2.0 110 hp engine. They like Super Bugs due to they they can take the higher speeds and handle better then the stock bug. Well at least they think so, I have not been able to compare.

Most of the Super Beetle suspensions on those cars have been swapped out with Porsche parts.

About the only thing left on those cars that is type one would be the bodies.

I've been debating on what to do with my 914. The 1.7 is fine but that 2.2 sounds more like what I'd like to hear from my car.

Believe it or not 1.7 with flat top pistons and a cam is a nice machine and a lot less money.

I have a 2.0 , 1.7 heads and 2.0 crank and rods. 914 case. The car is a Highway machine 75 mph all day, step on it and it will blast to well over 100mph but at 90 I start freaking.

I have the stock cam which sucks, the cam makes a big difference. Only if I knew then what I know now.

Hi guys, it was funny to hear about the thread here about our day out at a wet track here in Holland.
It was friday the 13th and we couldn't think of a better way of spending it than annoying BMW, Porsche and lotus drivers at the track

Here is an onboard film from a guy in a race prepped mini, it gets interesting from 13.25 onwards when a real car comes into picture..

My car is the green one which has a 2.7 t4 with twin spark and has 230hp
The white one is Walter with a 450HP 2.2 T4 turbo, he had a little touble putting all that power down on  a wet track.
