I would pull the pics until you have a deal struck.

Find out if the owner is willing to sell and make an offer. Best time to buy is usually when you are there. I would have a trailer and cash when I ask.
The middle seat is worth a handfull of cash by itself.

Ditto.

That middle seat alone will get someone out there to snipe it from you. Are your photos clean? A lot of them now, especially cell phone pics, will give the coordinates of your location when you took the pics. Ruh-roh!

Take down the pics, score it, then repost 'em.

It's got stuff that crosses over some years, and crosses over between standard and deluxe, but geez man, I'd snag if I were you. Looks pretty damn solid.

Heed this immediately...

Aside from that, it is a bit odd that there is only three pop-out side windows (instead of 4, being the average 13 winder Deluxe), and also having the belt-line trim and the Deluxe dash clock. In light of the seemingly absent speedo chrome trim-ring, these other Deluxe items could possibly have been added at a later time... I am unaware of a factory optioned 11 window Deluxe, but that does not mean this is a definitive answer though. The only way to have one of those is to post an image of the M-Code plate located behind the passenger seat on the bulkhead.

Theoretically, it would be safe from having it being snagged out from under you if you were to post an image of the M-Code plate only. Vultures are already circling high above this thread.

my best guess is it is about a 1966 11 window deluxe last on the road 13 or so years ago.it has an empi shifter extension and front side steps,i am unfamiliar with the side door steps.the dash may have some additional holes drilled beside the instrument pod,but the radio area is uncut and it has the deluxe clock in place.the side mirrors are aftermarket, the interior and seats appear to be fairly complete.i think the motor may have some newer components and perhaps missing the stock rev limiter.

I had no bus experience whatsoever, but I found some extremely helpful info in this forum when I found a bus stashed in a "secret" location near my house. It looks like you have tapped a honey hole with that bus, especially if the other two Type 2's are in similar condition. Certainly, keeping the location secret is critical, but I submit that you will get some very valuable info from folks here like I did (and continue to).

Now having said that, what is the GPS location of this bus :P ?

These all could be factory accessories... also, in the engine compartment, the driver-side heat riser plug is not there/missing, making for a significant exhaust leak.

The more we talk about this, the less of an impact removing the images will have on the security of the location. :(

PS: Nice to have you back here in the States Valentinesr...

To clear things up - That is a 1966 Standard to which someone has added deluxe beltline trim, deluxe rocker spears and a deluxe clock. It's not a Deluxe.

What a nice ride. I'm pretty sure the exif tag is removed when you use the samba gallery. Either way, I'd take them down for a while.

Buy it buy it buy it. Take it home, wash it, rub it, love it and then post pics stating, look what I bought!!

I don't alter anything.

I checked his first photo and don't see any Exif data.

FWIW, looks solid to me, I'd guess original owner requested it with deluxe trim & clock, and YES, buy it AND the other 2 also!!!! Get a quick loan and/or buy them with a friend! Specially if the others are also about the same condition as this one seems to be! Good luck and hurry up! 8)

def worth buying, cleaning up and rolling as a DD. While the trim and clock are not Mcode specific they look cleanly installed and I would roll it as is.

only california would have the first 11 window deluxe standard. ](*,) pics of the frame and floors would harvest a better look.

Vintagespeed Tue Jul 17, 2012 1:21 pm

everyone in the region of Montclair is now looking at similar looking places :D

taking down the pictures is probably too late, as most intrested will have saved them anyways.

I'd go down there negociate a sweet deal and drag those busses home.

Clean 'm up and put them up for sale here, and you'll make a decent buck and make some others happy if you're not too expensive in the sale

Just because they aren't seen from the road, surely, I'm not the only one who has GoogleMap shopped in fields and peoples back yards. All I can say is make your deal quick and get them out of there bro. You have released the hounds, and the "finders keepers" rule doesn't apply here. Good luck

Heres the other one that he has..
