Okay, I apologize if this has been covered in a previous thread.

I want to find out if there certain models that fit specific bench seats - that will not fit in others. For example, I have a 71 Deluxe and am looking for a middle and rear bench setup. Will benches from later models (77-79) fit my 71?

If not, I think it would be helpful for the Samba community to put together a detailed list of what bus years need specific bench seats.

It would certainly help me :)

I chuckeled and thought "another what fits thread "....Now that i have been at this for a while my question is where IS THE WHAT FITS info...is there a publication or another website??

I have a couple of items for sale and would like to know what they fit

Good point, Pete. Seems the "What fits?" thread could easily go far deeper than seats. While bus models have certain categories (Split, Early Bay, Late Bay), their parts can often "fit" multiple groups. And, of course, what those groups/years are depends on the part.

Any middle seat will fit any bay except for factory prepared Westfalias and panel vans, rear seat bottoms all interchange but the mounting for the backs changed in 74-75 so you may have to do a little drilling.
