I'm sorting out the mess of a PO wiring on the bus, and been having problems with the turn signals...

Can anyone teach me how it should be wired? It has a 3 connections flasher, and the hazard switch is missing.

Thanks!!

Do the rear lights have separate signal bulbs or are the brakes and signals combined into a single bulb?

You'll have to go here: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/info/wiringt2.php or here: http://vintagebus.com/ and find the diagram for the 1966 or 1967 non USA bus, they don't have hazard lights but do have separate signals and a 3 wire flasher. Some wire colors may be a little different so concentrate on terminal numbers and circuit details.

How could I install a hazard switch? As I need it to pass MOT.

Also, I have a 12 fuse fusebox, this brazilian guys did some strange things...

Then use the 1971 non USA diagram, you'll also need a switch of course.

You saved me again. Looking a that diagram, is pretty close to what it's installed in my bus.

Are those switch universal? as I want to fix this asap and find bus parts here is difficult so I will have to buy one on the classifieds and have it shipped to Chile.

All the front wiring sorted out.

Removed meters of cable installed by the PO, now all lights works.

It looks like there is no OG hazard switch in this model, and I'll have to modify the circuit to make it work. (I'm thinking about take the circuit out of the 71 bus diagram)

Also, the wiper circuit keeps on blowing fuses. The fuse (16A) blows right when I turn the key, so I think is a dead short, but where?

Thanks!

If all you want is hazard lights to pass an inspection any almost any switch from any car (even modern ones) that have separate signals will do, it just combines the L&R circuits and connects it to a flasher relay, VW used the same relay and the switch is more complex, other makes used a separate relay and used constant battery power. If it's a VW switch you want and are shopping in the USA get one from a 72+ bus, ghia, thing or bug.

The wipers could be a wire on the wrong terminal either at the switch or on the motor, how many speeds do the wipers in your bus have and where is the switch mounted (dash or column)?

The wiper has 3 speeds if I remember well, may be mistaken. Will check the connections tomorrow. The switch is mounted in the dash.

Will search for that switch, thanks!

The wiper is working now, but the shunt winding isn't

The switch has 3 position, I believe it's shunt winding, off, full speed.

Thanks busdaddy!

Good to hear, at least you have wipers of some sort.
You may want to look at the 73 bus diagram, they have 3 speed wipers and although switches are different style the terminal numbers should match.
