What will I need in order to replace my CV's with a set of 930's. I know I need the cv's and new trans flanges and I assume new stub axles. But what about the half shaft itself.

Try posting this and doing a search in the off road forum. I know that upgrading to 930 CVs is a common upgrade in the off road world due to the strength and angle that the 930 CVs have.
This article shows that the spline count on the 930 CVs is different than the VW CVs (28 vs 33) meaning different half shafts. This article might answer some of your questions.
