I have a 85 westy with an automatic transmission. I was replacing my seal and when i took it apart 2 torque seals came out. Never seen that before. Any ideas :?: I only ordered 1 should i install it or order a 2nd one and put them both :?:

Your seal has been replaced before. This isn't the factory setup.
Several members here have used two seals as extra insurance against leaks.
I thought about doing it to mine, but after measuring, the outermost seal wasn't going to be flush with the housing. I elected to stick with the original single seal setup. |

Call around some more to mom/pop or smaller independent parts stores. Someone just might be able to get it in a day.
FYI the torque converter seal number is the same for National or Timken

I was able to find one at BAP Imports and was able to double it without the waiting.

I was debating in between doing it or not and was happy with the results. It seems to be pretty flush.
