View original topic: plastic hinge covers on Vert

I need to restore my plastic hinge covers on my vert. They are solid but need a little mending and painting. They are white.
Any suggestions on what kind of paint or coating should be used?
Thanks, Jerry

Well, if they are solid thats good, but if they are cracked, its a god idea to replace them. White is usually the stock part they come out with when yoiu buy them. Its your car, whatever color you decide to pain it..is great if you like it. Good Luck

Those are pretty expensive, like $60 for a repop pair, so I understand trying to repair/repaint them. I would use Krylon fusion plastic paint. Pure white is a little too bright, if you can find an almond color, it might look better. Probably a little darker than the original, but will make it look both clean and "old".

First, use permatex plastic bond epoxy on the backside to fill and repair any slight cracks. It comes in an almond color which will work well.
Then apply the paint in thin layers to preserve the molded texture of the hinge covers.
