Hello all -
Can anyone tell me the diameter of the steering wheel for 68-up bus? I've been searching and can't find anything... |

| I think I found it on a website that was selling aftermarket steering wheels - they said 17"-18". Sound right? |

Why? Are you shopping for a steering wheel cover?
The steering wheel changed in 78 to a padded version so there are two sizes of steering wheels. I do know that the wheelskins covers sold by GoWesty are custom sizes for the bus steering wheel. The later padded wheel cover is 17 1/4" x 3 1/4".
The steering wheel itself changed in late 74 and although it won't fit an earlier model the dimensions are the same. |

Actually, I am shopping for a bus - I am a pretty big guy and that big 'ol wheel leaves me kind of cramped... I was hoping switching to an aftermarket 14" or 15" wheel would be a little more comfortable... |

There's no powersteeing obviously so a smaller wheel is going to be a bit more struggle at rest, parking etc. I'd like to hear your experience if you give it a try.
Someone passed along a note to me once saying that the aftermarket retractable seatbelts are very tight if you're a big guy. FYI. |
