you got to make sure the lever is lifting up the mechanism or youll never get them out you can use a flash light to check under the seat and see how it works

On a late model try this. At the front of the seat rail, next to the transmission hump, you will see a flat spring style plate approx 6mm wide X approx 30mm long. Press this plate down as you move the seat forward on the rail. This allows the seat to pass over the top of the plate and forward off the rail. You may need someone behind the seat depending on how tall you are. When reinstalling ensure that you lube for ease of fitting. Hope that helps

The plastic things are what the seat slides on! If you want the seat to keep on working how it should then replace them with new ones.

I agree that the inserts are the best way to keep the seats working 4.0, but man are they expensive! Anyone have a less costly alternative to spending $100 on tracks (other than keeping the seats in one place and just offering blocks of wood and string to short drivers)?

I got mine from CIP1. They sell the set of 4 for about $60, or you can get each peice individually from ISPwest.

Question #1: I still couldent get the seat off, I have a feeling that the rust has eatun up to them because when I was kicking them they moved maybe 6 centimeters and nothing more, I cant get them to move at all anymore, any other suggestions??
Question #2: A friend of mine took out the old rails and put in some newer jap seats (with the railes connected). Is this a good thing or should I use the originals?
Question #3: If I keep the orig. rails I need to replace one because it is bent at the back, will this be tough?
Thanks! :) |
