Last weekend was the annual Amarillo Crime Stoppers car show. The import class had a good turn out. I won my pre-70 import class with my 65 single cab. The post 1970 import class had a much better turnout. A guy pulled up to the show driving a 25th Anniversiary Lamborghini Countach (sp?). He thought his car was the shit! It turn out a 1978 Bay Window won the class award, the people's choice award for the class and the overall "Chief's Pick" award...
Might be the first time a VW has ever beaten a Lambo! |

Not the first time. It happens out here also. I don't know about buses but it happens with bugs. |

| I was shut out by a lambo a week ago. 600 entries to our town show and a bone stock car wins overall? We had a few magazine type show cars that won something and that made sense but the lambo had everyone scratching their heads. |

I've got pictures at home. I will post them tomorrow. That Lambo was the hot car when I was in high school. I remember tons of posters with the Lambo Countach on them.
After getting to check that car out first hand, that interior has to be the ugliest, most plain jane interior I have ever seen. It looked cheap and so unexotic compared to the exterior of the car. In fact, I have seen better interiors on Ford Festivas!
Thanks for the kind words. We were the only two VW's in the show so it was cool. I got to hear a lot of stories about how people had this or that VW when they were young... |

not only do VWs regularly "beat" lambos--see Bugatti Vayron--VWs in fact, OWN Lamborghinis, and have since 1998.
never underestimate the little guy :wink: |
