Has anyone ever just tac-welded the clips to the wheel instead of messing with that damn rivet that holds the clip to the wheel. I figured sense you have to drill out the old rivet anyways why not just tac-weld them and forget about the rivet, they are a pain in the ass. anthony

The only problem I can see with welding is: Those little tabs are spring steel. Welding will change the temper of the steel ie. make it soft, thus leading to breakage.

you can probably borrow the rivet anvil from the place you bought the rivets from or at worse case, maybe autozone has them for rent.

Or if you are not a purist, you might try pop rivets.
