Hi All,
I have my bus lowered currently with a folksy adjuster at the front etc. by about 4-5 inches, which gives it a wicked ride height. But inorder to stop get an extra couple of centimetres of overall height drop to fit in a garage I am hopfully getting at my new house I was thinking of changing the tires on my wheels. I have seen quite a few splits with small tires?
Has anyone else done this, and what problems have they encountered (I'll have to recal the speedo..)?
What do reckon is a good size to go for? I don't get much rubbing on the arches, just the odd rub when I take a corner a bit quick!!!
Thanks alot (I'm currently hoping that now I will have a garage I will be able to do more work on the bus myself!)

yes, changing the wheel and/or tire size will effect your final drive ratio and the calibration of your speedo. Its nothing drastic, but maybe about 2-8mph(matters how drastic your size change is)
You will also want to make sure that you don't go to a tire size too small for the bus, it then becomes a safety hazard! Even though its a hot rod, it is still a 4000+lb tank rolling down the road that needs a good amount of rubber contact.
Good luck!!!! |

Im using continental 175-/55-15s. They are alot wider then 135s but smaller in diameter. On a 5.5 inch rim the tire width is only 6 inchs.
