I just found a fairly solid '77 Bus with no engine or tranny for $50. I have a '79 Bus with a horribly rusty and beat up body. Would the 4spd '79 go in the '77(which was a 4spd manual also)? I'm sure it will, just need some reassurance.
I'm looking forward to driving a puke green & white '77 Bus!!! |

| provided the 77 bus had a manual trans before, than it should be a straight bolt-up. Nice score! |

| By puke green you'd better not be refering to "sage green", one of my favorite vw colors or I may have to hunt you down and kill you. |

Nah, Josh...I'm sure he doesn't mean the sage green, which is more like the color of baby s**t than puke :D
I'm just kidding, I love the sage green too...
BTW, what part of Alabama are you in, Adam? I'm in Auburn myself, and it's good to hear from another bus owner down here (just don't tell me where that $50 bus is, or I might go offer 'em $100 for it... |

Something about owning a bus must make you want small, square, flat-nosed dogs, as well...I'm a Boston Terrier owner myself...

| I actually had a lady in a 1977 Sage VW camper with a pug parked right behind me at a show I did in VA. I was kinda eerie. |

Well it might be sage green, I don't know. I didn't say puke green like it's a bad thing. I actually love the color scheme. Puke green and white is one of my favorite late Bus color schemes too.
Oh, and Nomad Hater, I'm in Bessemer, which is right below B'ham. I have 3 of my good friends in Auburn right now and I've been down there a few times to visit them. Is that tan/white bay window Bus I've seen down there yours. If it is you may have seen me down there 'bout a month ago in my yellow '71 Bug. |

| Ok, something is really weird here. I drive a 1977 sage green westy, like Mr. Breeze's, and I have a Pug also. |

| So, if everything bolts up like it should without fabricating how long should this take (to swap trannies)? |

| Shouldn't take too long, a couple of hours at most. Basically, bolt it in, and connect the wires, connect the shift linkage to the tranny. You could do it as a whole unit, or split the engine and tranny apart, and do it one ata a time. |

Yep Adam, that's me...I may have noticed you, too...but I've seen a few yellow bugs around, so I don't know....
I meant to come up to your show up there in B'ham a couple of weeks ago, but the engine swap that I knew was coming came a little quicker than I expected  |
