Your 77 Westy, right? I recently rebuild my windows and it was a PITA. I know you can remove any of the individual frames from the outside frame without having to remove one side of the frame but the aluminum is soft and you have to be careful.

On assembly you'll have a hard time putting any of the inner frames in and I think it best to take the window out to do the work for the following reasons:

- each pane is held in place with a gasket. Although the gasket has hardened over time it's still difficult to remove a window pane so installing one will be ever harder and require a lot of lubricant.

- the frame for each pane is sealed with butyl rubber sealant that is rock hard and needs to be chipped away.

The window is removed by taking out twelve screws from the inside and pushing it out. Installation of this window is far easier than any other window on the bus. Overall the working angle is just inconvenient unless you remove it

Glass cleaner is a good lube that dries nice. I've seen people use dish soap and every time it rains you get bubbles for a year.

Bummer about your windows. I hope you can find some locally because shipping them is very expensive.

The alternator is 55A on US models and 70A on some others like Canada. The larger capacity alternator is distinguishable via the fan blades on the pulley.
