| Got a question for you all. I was able to aquire a 1975 VW/Porsche 914. The question is is it possible to change the distributor to a 009 so I can use electronic ignition, and is there any easy way at all to reset the valves? Thanks ! |

I got a 914 just recently too. The valves will be a pain, but check out pelicanparts.com They have a instruction sheet to make it easier. Also 914club.com has alot more 914 folks, and is very active. And yes my 914 has an 009 distributer.

| The Pelican parts article on adjusting the valves is probably the best way to do your valves, it's illustrated also which is a great help. Once you get it down a few times, it takes about 30-60 minutes. You should be adjusting the valves on your 914 between 500-1000 miles. Believe me you'll get good at it by about the third time doing it. Good Luck! |

As far as I remember the 914 uses the same D-Jetronic fuel injection system that the Type III does. The distributors in these systems have a extra set of points in the bottom for triggering the fuel injection. Hence you cannot change the distributor.
