My 67 square wont seem to idle right. It has stock dual carbs with electric chokes. First it takes forever to get back down to idle from rpm. Like if i put the clutch in at over 2000 rpm it takes 10 seconds at least to get to idle. And then the idle will speed up and slow down at random. Also when im driving about 30mph and take my foot of the gas it continues driving at 30 without any drop in speed or rpm, even though the linkage returns to idle. Ive taken both carbs apart and cleaned em like no other, but that didnt work. Could the chokes be malfunctioning, or do i need new carbs. Im stumped

| You may also be suffering from a sticky distributor advance or worn breaker plate (the plate the points ride on.) |

well, if your dual carbs have not being syncronized in quite awhile it would cause the fuel to be dispursed in uneven amounts and would account for your fluctuation in rpms. The best way to syncronize them is by using a tach and a vacuum flow meter. I just took my car in to have it done though when I converted my FI to dual carbs. It eneded up bein cheaper to pay to have it done once than to buy the tach and meter to do it myself. Too Quicks German Auto on 112th Im sure could help ya out. They are friendly and provide suprisingly inexpensive services.
peace bro
