I saw a thread in the kit car/ buggy forum about 2013 goals. However, it was specifically pointed torwards new year goals for buggys only. So, I was wondering what everybody else has planned for their vw's for the new year. This including all vw models; Beetle, Bus, Ghia, etc.

What do you have planned?

Well starting to restore my 59 swivel seat kombi is first. I want to get it blasted, metalwork and paint and start in interior. I'm working on getting the 68 notch running and driving as is. And for the 69 squareback, new brakes an interior. I have a huge list haha!!

My goal is to be able to title and drive my bug.

To paint and upholster my bug. Hummmm come to think of it...that was last years goal too! Oh well.

Rebuilt stock spindles and center pin replacement on my bs.

The list is long.... but

id love to get paint done so i can drive a pretty bus :)

overhaul steering and brakes.

get bigger tires on those 14"ers

work the kinks out of my camping cabinetry and aux electrical.

then the hours upon hours of little projects. (which are my favorite, the big projects are always so expensive)

beyond the bus.

Hike the Appalachian Trail, and once that is finished hopefully the bus will be ready for its cross country adventure.

Get back in the game on my 57 Ghia.

Finish the battery area sheet metal
Get the door gaps tighter
Finish the heads on the new engine and plug it in
Interior and paint.....

VW related ones..

1) Get 21 Window running/driving.
2) Get 23 Window painted (maybe running/driving but doubtful). This one is turning into one of those '10 year restorations', the kind where nothing is done for 9 years! :lol:

Get the 1776 up and runnin as it has sat in the garage for a couple of years...try and figure out why it continually leaks at the main seal!

Waiting on Dave (Blankmange) to add another 1 of these same posts to the type 3 forum for another year (it's been going on since 2007 in the type 3 forum). But basically I plan on just driving my cars. 8)

get the new (to us) Multi Van painted and camp like crazy in 2013 with the soon-to-be-too-old-for-that-stuff-kids......

Get the '78 Convertible Smog Tested by the end of January.
Mock up the 1904 by the end of Feb, so I can order Heads, shims, and Carbs by April 15th.

Get rid of all unnecessary parts and keep only what I need to restore ONE sunroof notchback.

For me, I'm aiming to drive my Beetle to a local VW show in July of 2013. That may not sound like a big deal, but my Bug is almost completely torn down....Engine, Body, & Interior. I'm on a limited rebuild/restore budget, but I do all the work myself.

First I must find a Beetle to work on. Once I accomplish that goal, I am willing to bet my "to do list" will be quite long.

My goal for the new year is just making it to the next one! After that the rest is just fun.
