What do people do for flat top distributor spark plug leads? Are these available with bare ends nowadays specifically for 25hp engines or do people just buy a 'standard' set of good quality leads and chop the ends off?

Cheers,
Rich.

I bought a set from the local auto parts store and was able to peel back the brass contact and unscrew it, then remove the rubber boot.

Hey....I should do that and start selling them as OEM 25HP wire set!

I will make 25hp sets soon, I already have allmost all parts for them, only good rubber boots for coil wire still missing, I don't want to put too new style for it.

Rhode Island Wiring has the correct lacquered wire and ends available in bulk.

Rhode Island Wire (riwire.com) sells a good 7mm lacquered black cloth plug wire. Jim Bremer was making sets and selling them on the Zarwerks site, but finding a good source for plug ends has been difficult.

You can by the $13-$15 Bosch sets and scavenge the plug ends and boots and make up a pretty nice set with the RI Wire leads, but the ends are brown.. The "good" ends to get are the black Hirschmann ones, most likely what was used originally. Used to be able to find lots of them for sale in the hobby, but supply seems to be drying up.

Thanks for all the responses guys.

Mika- please add a set to my shopping list when they are ready

As a temporary measure, I think I will buy a cheap set of leads and do what Bill/John have done.
