New car,new Samba fan and a leaky oil cooler.
Any suggestions on where I can purchase an oil cooler? |

I have no idea if your 72 will fit my 67. I'll research that one.

the correct oil cooler part number is 311 117 021B and it fits type 3 years 67-73.
So the one off the 72 will fit.

| Most of the time it just needs new seals installed. I would find a parts house that carries the german seals and try cleaning and installing new seals before replacing the whole cooler. |

| make sure u get the right seals... most vendors don't know the difference. there are different seals for the late model cases versus the early cases. in addition, if ur running an early cooler. the difference is that one has 8mm holes and the other has 10mm holes and you need to have the right seal not to restrict oil flow. There are adapter type seals that actually converge/diverge for this type application. Their usually green in color. |

| after you take the engine tin off, mine is stamped with the part number next to the oil sensor... had to clean it off a bit, but it was there. |
