New VW owner (67 Fasty, 4 spd, carb) and new Samba lurker.
I've been reading the past months posts looking for vendors, but does anyone have a list of Type 3 vendors in the USA?
I'm still looking for an oil cooler and other parts so I can bring this 20 + year idle car back to life! |

www.billandsteves.com - this website is old, call them with any parts requests, if it is type 3 related, they have it or can get it.
www.ispwest.com - same as above, they manufacture their own type 3 products as well.
kymco used to stock a large # of type 3 parts, I'm not sure if they still do or not.
A type 3 is an expensive car to restore correctly, and they are the stepchild of the vw world. that said, they are safer than a bug, defenetly handle better than a bug, have more power, etc etc.

There is a guy in Ventura Ca who just bought out a shop and he has all kinds of stuff at good prices. I think he has a type 3. I think the email is partsmd@yahoo.com. Not sure on the email, but he has a couple of things on the samba.
It might be worth checking out. |

| You might also want to try www.theddb.com as Martin has some good used parts available. In most cases a good used german part is better than some of the new parts that are available. |
