Hi
I have rust on my chrome wheels - ive used a rust killer to convert it but it looks unsightly, apart from having them rechromed how could I improve the look?

Cheers

Have you tried buffing?

Lemon Juice will dissolve rust off chrome.

And use aluminum foil to scrub it with the juice.

clean with hydrochloric acid , rinse with water . be cautious of fume , use only outside . You cam get it at a pool supply store ,home depot or masonry supply store.

I used hydrochloric acid when i flushed out my fuel tank but i also resealed it straight after. What would I put over the rust converted area once it's gone to stop it reforming? I think I used Bicarb of soda to neutrilize the acid last time.

Depending on how bad this is rusted I have used and had great sucess with WD-40, PB Blaster, and 000 steel wool. I have used this on bikes, cars, bumpers and motorcyles as well.

Evapo-rust works great.

soak in a tub of water and oxylic acid over night. The results will blow your mind, the absolute only way to go. If it can be saved, this will take it as far as possible.

get eagle 1 mag wheel cleaner, let them soak and lightly scrub the bad spots. the only rusty spots left was where the chrome had peeled away here are before and after shots of the chrome wheels on my van that sat for 15 years in a damp shady backyard

I'm gonna try soaking my headlight rings in white vinegar.

I want to try au natural before au chemical.

000 steel wool works but I've found that rust will. Always return. Maybe keep a good coat of wax on after its done.

Look into powder coating - there are some decent products out there that are getting pretty darn close.
