Hi guys, quick question, is the brake master cylinder from a VW oval usable in a 1954 pre-A porsche?

many thanks!!

Been a long time, so hopefully a more familiar one will chime in, but I think the bus cylinder is the one to use. Gotta be 19mm bore.

I have been told the pre-A master is the same as a Barndoor Bus.

They are very alike, except the BD is 22.2 dia bore and the Porsche is 19.05mm. Using the BD cylinder will requre more pedal pressure than
the 19mm cylinder, but works.
However I have used the BD cylinder on my car (1961 356B) for a good
number of years with little effect.

Barndoor masters are 19mm too.

Everett, sorry but you are right. Good luck finding a 19mm master cylinder. Since the factory changed to the 22.2 cylinder back in 1955
and we have used the same master in most offroad buggies, I don't see any listing in parts suppliers for the 19mm master cylinder. Anyone
know?
