Welcome to the local Pick and Pull in Northern California.

There's nothing left in most of them.

There are certain enclaves of treasure - but you need to know the passwords.

Seriously - Richard Atwell and Karl recognized the phenomenon years ago. There's nothing left in Norcal, in general. Especially with Bays.

Or just look harder. The bastion of counter culture has been picked over by the vultures over the years.

Yours,

Hunter S. Thompson.

PM if you want details or want me to go get something for you.

I have been there before you :) Check the blue coil next to the driver seat.

I took some minor parts but planning to cut some metal off it later next week if it's still there.

Dudes, there are so few of us left in NorCal living in 1978.

I've been doing it for a few years now.

Let's post the exact address of this pick and pull.

Why the PM? Is life a secretive competition?

Let's get her done before she heads to the crusher.

Dear Hunter:

I write seeking enclaves of treasure and the associated passwords.

I hear you on that one brother. I used to be a hoarder, but I'm going camping for the next 2 - 3 years full time.

Been trying to sell the crap for quite a while now, but there are no takers.

So, I have resorted to just giving small parts away for free. But there's a catch - you have to meet Friday in person.

If you have a Bay, and you live in the Bay Area, then let's get our beep on.

By the way: huge fan of thestoryofstuff lately. I wish more people would watch them.

I know how you feeling about selling stuff, last few time some one from craigslist showed up for some parts I just gave it to them rather than having it get kicked around crushed and become completely useless to any one.

Defiantly want to meet up with the VW peeps in the Bay, and go camping why I got the Westy, I just have to stop taking the extra step in fixing things.
" from replacing rear brakes to re greasing the axles & bearings"

cool to know thestoryofstuff still has it's appeal your the second person to mention it on TheSamba.

you go to the NAG meet's?

Professional Drifter Sun Feb 21, 2010 12:29 pm

I went to the NAG meet for the first time last week. I had the only Bay window, they seem like a tight bug group.

that was our impression here too, mostly bugs and splits - the occasional Thing. They did welcome us.

I used to go to Bud's Bugs in Port of Chicago. That place was amazing. Too bad it's been gone for 9 years? Maybe longer. Found some good stuff there. Used to see a few Bays at Pick 'n Pull in Hayward but that was a few years ago.
