I am refreshing a 1971 campmobile and I took out this heater vent assy under the dash. On the backside are two unevenly sized holes that are rusty but seem to locate across from two holes in the fresh air plenum. Are there grommets that go in these holes? Are these some kind of fresh air mix into this assy? Why two unevfen sized holes (or did rust just enlarge one)? Should there be plugs or hardware in these holes?

That makes sense. I have a nice set of four 1/2" holes in the nose for a front tire mount. I will see if they line up, POR the rust, and then plug these.
Thanks,
