What can you tell the new guy about repairing body panels?
-What is the best way to repair the holes?
-Does anyone sell replacement body panels (metal or fiberglass)?
My BIG area of non-existent metal is in the storage compartment, where the brake fluid resevoir is (barely) connected to the body. I found the POR-15 repair kit online and am wondering if that is a good option. |

Talk to Martin in the DDB. He is out of Portland. He can probably get you or already has a replacement peice of sheet metal for the area you need.

It's cheap azz crap. Go with sheet metal. To me, It would be like cutting corners. I have also never heard anyhthing good about fiberglass unless it is used for either a buggy or baja.
Don't they have a saying somethin like "If you are gonna do it, do it right"? If not, that should be the the new saying to take into practice here.

| Another reason for going with steel, is that area is part of the body structure. Fiberglass won't hold up there very well, and you need strength in that area. Also when getting the sheet metal, ask for it to be cut larger than your hole, because by the time you get to solid metal again, the hole might be twice the size you started with. I hope this helps. |
