I have two s-backs, a '71 and a '67. The 71 has a crossmember thing across the bottom rear of the eng. and the 67 has some weird tube thing on the top. Can I use the crossmember thing on my 67 to put the 71 motor in or do I have to use the tube thing or can I do both or what? plus, I think maybe there is supposed to be a rubber eng. mount type thing for the little tube thing, and its missing. Where can I get this? I am sorry, I know this sounds pretty vague, but these are my very first T-3s and I am hoping someone will know what I'm talking about. Please Help!! thanks

Well lets see...
first so you know your 67 is a swingaxle car, the 71 is a IRS car [this refers to the type of rear suspension you have]

Are you wanting to put the 71 motor into the 67 car?
You can do this, but once the motor is out of the car you will need to remove the hanger bar from the motor as your 67 car doesnt have the mounts in the body like the 71 does. If you need to just look inside the engines compartments and you will see what i mean.

Once the hanger is off just add the small tube to the 71 motor and then you can install the motor into the car.

Take a look at the bottoms of both cars to see the differences of both.

OK- the motor in the 71 must be an older style, because it has the tube already mounted on it. I got your e-mail and I need the rubber that the goes on the body for the tube to go into. I also really need a pan for the 67, becuse both pans are f---ed. I sent an email back to the website you gave me becuase I would really like to get started on the build. Please let me know which year pans I can use for the 67. would it be cheaper to have a body shop weld in the pan halves for me, or would I be able to find a rust free pan easier? maybe not rust free, but something I can work with.

I would think that it would be cheaper to just get the pan halves rather than a whole rolling pan.
I would be suprised if T3Junkie did not have a set of floor pans for you as well.

I dont need it to be a rolling pan, just the pan itself, minus suspension components.

why not put the whole rear end of the 71, including the engine in the back of the 67.
